Dr. Ahmad is a fine, personable psychiatrist who genuinely cares for her patients and desires to engage in conversation and therapy. She is not "just about meds." She is an individual practitioner, low tech (no website, email communications or texting), and has no office staff (of course she has medical backup when out of town.) You must call to make an appointment. When you call her, she answers or returns your call personally. I have been helped gently and tremendously by her.
I have been a patient of Dr. Ahmad for several years. I have found her to be not only professional and capable, but genuinely caring. (In casual conversation she once told me that most of her patients are medical personnel, and due to their round-the-clock schedules she, at least occasionally, makes appointments in the middle of the night.) She 'knows her stuff' so I wouldn't try to 'shine her on', but she is very willing to go far out of her way to be of help for people who will be straight with her.
Over the last several years, Dr. Ahmad has been most helpful in her guidance to not only myself, but several friends and family members. She is compassionate, clinically always on target, never misses appointments and goes above and beyond to be of assistance. Her communication skills are excellent. For those who truly want to work to improve some areas in their lives, she is the one to choose. Dr. Ahmad is truly remarkable and I would highly recommend her.
I loved Dr Ahmad, but she consistently got appointments wrong. Didn’t really listen to me, was telling me what to do, instead of helping me work through things, then I got a DWI and that was it! Became non caring when I needed her the most. Was suppling my depression and anxiety meds for years would not refill them after that and became very cold and judgemental.
