Took my almost 13yr old granddaughter for a special Abba themed afternoon tea. A lovely experience for us both, we were made very welcome and although there was only 1 other table occupied at 3.30pm the music more than made up for the atmosphere in there. A selection of 5 sandwiches, scone with cream and jam and 5 assorted cakes. I had tea and she had hot chocolate. Pretty presentation, nice selection of hot drinks. Lovely sweet treats. I was however shocked at how little savouries there were to eat for the price. One tiny cucumber sandwich. A tiny chicken wrap, two bite size items - a palmier and a pastry. A variety of sandwiches would have been more worthwhile . At least a few more. Also, food was not bottomless whereas in some places you can ask for more sandwiches. They need to up their menu and the amount for savouries. The Mama Mia theme was very subtle so nothing to rave about.
Very expensive for what you got 2 small volevonts and 2 small rolls a scone the cakes to sweet and sickly oveepriced been to the savoy before much better sandwiches the chef did makes some cheese and ham rolls very small rollls wouldnt recommend, im fussy and they all come with some type of dressing
Was very very disappointed with the food. Not enough savouries, we had 1 each of everything - 4 items just bite size and 1 figure sandwich!! Plenty of desserts - which most did not get eaten, couldnt stomach too much sugar.
We came for the ABBA tea at 1pm on a weekday and we were the only people in the room for our entire visit. I had the recommended tea and it was delicious. You get as much tea as you want and I went through 2 pots. We both enjoyed 2 of the sandwiches. The third, cucumber, bread was too dry. Loved the scones. Besides one lemon dessert, we found the rest way too sweet for our tastes.
