This guy is a joke and shouldn't have a captain license. He passed my boat at the entrance to Bald Head Island on plane in a 26' Bayliner at about 10 feet away. Needless to say this was an exciting ride on an 18' flats boat. When I confronted him about this dangerous and disrespectful action his nonchalance was outrageous. I would highly suggest vetting him and his record before hiring him for a charter.
Captain Mike was a very nice guy and so was his deckhand Alex. The water was a little rough so we did not go as far as we intended. During the entire trip we trolled the ocean with only 4 poles, eventhough we had six guys. During our seven hour trip we caught six fish. I understand there are bad fishing days but the Captain never changed his ways or tried anything else. Cpt. Mike and I'm pretty sure the 1st Mate (who's also a new captain) Alex were extremely great company for our half day trip. The day was iffy due to some rainclouds coming in but we make the best of it. I wished that we could have caught more fish because everyone imagines catching like 50-100 fish, but you cant have everything the way you want it.
