I just got done reporting them to the attorney general of Iowa and if I have to will take further legal action if they do not pay what they owe. Will said he would honor the warranty with another mechanic because we live 6 hrs away. I turned in my receipts which totaled over $800 because of all the work that had to be done. I have been told for a month now that the check is in the mail, but i'm guessing it aint ever coming. JJ told my father that the car would pass Missouri inspection which it did not. The mechanic said it wasn't safe to drive because the right inner tie rod was really really bad. That was the first bill. I had to shell out $200 before I could ever license it. Then the air conditioning did not work and that was another $400 and before any of that my father had to replace the alternator and battery so about another $200. I should not have had to go to the attorney general. If you decide you want to travel down the road of buying from affordable auto remember this: 1. drive it to another mechanic and have it looked over top to bottom 2. Test the air and heat as well as electrical like windows (yeah know the things you always forget to check) 3. get everything in writing! everything! 4. Whenever possible buy from someone else

This place is ridiculous! I will never go there again! I bought a Geo Prizm from them and it seemed fine at first. But about 2 weeks later things began to go wrong, It seemed as though the people that work at Affordable Auto Sales were attempting to cover a lot of things up that was wrong with this vehicle, for example about a month after I purchased it the rear bumper fell off, and I found little holes in it and had seemed to have been zip tied on... The ac and heat control nob was broken. They also put a new belt on the car to cover up the thing it revolves around. Now after 4 months of owning it, it sits in my driveway no longer willing to start. I would not suggest getting a car here unless you want a driveway ornament. I personally wouldn't even give them 1 out of 5 star rating...they would get a zero!!!!

I will not be purchasing a vehicle from these guys. My fiance and I are from Waterloo and were going there to see a '07 Hyundai Elantra that they featured on their website. My fiance called and asked if the blue '07 manual Hyundai Elantra was still available. The man on the phone said yes, it's sitting out in the lot. We drove to Marion and arrived at the lot at 5:40, twenty minutes before advertised closing time. Salesman JJ greeted us and told us to let him know if we had any questions. After looking around at their (unimpressive) inventory, and not seeing the aforementioned Hyundai, we asked if he could unlock a different car for us to check out, we weren't even asking to test drive it. JJ said, "Uh, what did you want to know?" We said we just wanted to get a better look at the car, look inside, etc. JJ said, "Uh, we're closing, we already put the keys away...." The other man working said, "Yeah, we're closing, maybe you could come back tomorrow..." My fiance said, "Well, I called earlier about a '07 Hyundai Elantra. I mentioned I'd be coming in to see it..." JJ said, "Oh yeah! You said you were coming in with your Dad!" Um, no. I told them we had come from Waterloo to look at a car that they specifically told us they had, then they said that it sold on Saturday. B.S. At the very least, these guys have terrible/no customer service skills. When we mentioned that we had come from Waterloo they still made no offer to let us see inside any car because they had already put the keys away! Even though they were still 10 minutes away from closing.

STAY AWAY FROM HERE! This place in one word,SUCKS!!! Bought a 99 Grand Am GT from them. Broke down 4 data's later. Had blown head gasket. They were gonna replace the engine, money was sent to them, repairs made, but they DID NOT REPLACE THE MOTOR! Said it was #q and 3 rockers, and the repair cost the same. Get it home and running bad, took to a shop for diagnostic and was running lean. Turns out mechanic rigged a vacum line up. Week later,it dies again. Now they wanna trade me straight across for a 97 Saturn four door with a 4 cylinder and no power features. No choice but to it,then they sold it! Now they wanna fix mine. Btw,its blown head gaskets again! Do they fix it? Took them a month to come and pick it up. When it was finished, they said it wasnt the gasket, but a cracked intake manifold, that already had JB Weld on it! Are you kiddin me?!!! 3 days after I got it home,it starts randomly dieing when you let off gas to stop. Unreal! They do not stand behind their cars, sell junk, and are a total scam!! Car still not running right with more troubles all the time. BTW,DON'T ASK FOR A RECEIPT FOR ANY WORK DONE,THEY WON'T GIVE YOU ONE!! Have spent over $2,000 since I bought it,and still not fixed right! 2 Big MIDDLE FINGERS TO THIS PLACE!!!!!

My used cars will only come from Affordable Auto! – My family has had the best experience with Affordable Auto! We have purchased 3 cars from them. The first time we went into the lot we were limping in, in our car we rolled and had just wrecked in Wyoming. We couldnt afford a huge car payment. Tim worked with our budget and even took the beat up little junk car as a trade-in towards the cost. When we told him how much we were able to pay each month he upped his offer on the trade-in so the monthly payment was down to what I could afford. What dealer do you know who would do that!! Affordable Auto even has the carfax on the cars if they are available. After purchasing a car with a 1 month warranty we experienced a couple minor problems. We called Tim and he got right on it. He even worked with a nearby shop so we wouldnt have to travel back to Marion to get it fixed. My warranty is up now but I havent had any other problems that werent just wear and tear expected for the year . Tim gave the offer to call him any time something goes wrong with any of the cars and he will find the best price available. It is a relief to know that I always have and can trust Tim and the entire Affordable Auto team. I wouldnt hesitate to send my friends and family to Affordable Auto and also plan to buy my future cars there! Go see what they have to offer and ask for Tim! Tell him I sent ya ;-)

Affordable Auto ROCKS!! I must say that I had an exceptional experience here. From the moment we walked onto the lot til the moment we drove away in our new-to-us Saturn, the experience was a good one. We had been to eight other lots by the time we got to Affordable, and felt really dumb for not having gone there first. The selection was much larger and more varied, the prices were much better (on average, the cars we looked at were about 20% cheaper for cars that were almost identical to ones we saw at the other lots,) the vehicles tended to be in much nicer condition (and CLEANER!), and the warranties were longer and had better coverage. We were met by Tim, who was smart enough to leave us alone and let us look (unlike many other places, where the salesmen follow you around endlessly) and who was also honest enough to be willing to risk losing a sale by telling us that we'd be making a mistake in purchasing a cheaper vehicle that we had been looking at, which would have- -in the end- -been completely wrong for us. Everyone we met there was polite, friendly, and professional, and I never felt even one ounce of pressure to buy. Folks were incredibly helpful, and walked us (a pair of novice car-dealership-customers) through the entire process in a way that made everything feel painless while simultaneously keeping us well-informed as to what choices and options were available. We got much more car than I ever would've thought we could afford, at a rate that was much less than I thought I'd end up paying. I am so happy we found these people, and judging from the amount of walk-in traffic and the fact that the phones were ringing off the hook the whole time we were there, I'm guessing that we're not the first couple to discover this great little dealership. In the past, I have always purchased cars from private individuals, on the mistaken assumption that this was the less-expensive, more-guaranteed way to get a vehicle. Never again. From now on, I will do my car-shopping here, and recommend this place to friends, family, and co-workers every chance I get. Thanks, guys!!! We really, really appreciate it!
