My experience with Aetna has cost me hours and hours of time. Mostly waiting for answers that no operator can truly assist me with. They can’t take a credit card or debit card. One week they want my info faxed but can’t give me a fax number. Then they want me to send a check but they can’t use the check to pay my premium until I call 14 days later. But call whom???? Wow after reading some of these reviews I feel stupid for my complaints. However it confirmed this is a unethical COMPANY and the fact that the name is BETTER HEALTH IS RIDICULOUS AND A LIE. How do you not provide rides for MENTAL HEALTH APPOINTMENTS? THE BRAIN IS PART OF THE HUMAN BODY AND IT IS JUST AS IF NOT MORE IMPORTANT THAT THE HEART, THE LUNGS OR DIGESTIVE SYSTEM. Spent 8 years with Aetna. Thankfully did not need them a lot, but when I did, noticed they are in the habit of denying claims. The online customer portal is not very good or helpful and it feels deliberately obscure/opaque for customers. The most egregious thing that happened besides the claim denial was that somehow Aetna leaked my plan data to another insurance company (yes, seriously) to be listed as someone else's primary insurance, such that I started getting unknown claims against my plan, which I had to get reversed. ... read more
