They are not my electric company, just the provider, unfortunately! I have had 2 power outages in a week. It is a huge pain in the butt to have to reset all the electronics when the electricity comes back on.
I've had as many "brown outs" living in Abilene as when I lived in a third world country. Try not to live in an area serviced by this company. There really isn't any excuse for the number of outages on storm less nights.
Horrible service but what can you do?
My parents electric went off at 9AM. They are Reliant customers but AEP has the meter (which was blinking) so they were transferred to AEP. At first, very concerned bc it was "we'll get to it." It's July! It's gonna get hot. They also said, "If it's on your end, you owe $72 up front." So not a good start. But within the hour, there was a technician and he quickly assessed it was a defective smart meter & in less than 5 minutes, we had electricity! He was friendly & efficient. Great job!
