Horrible company, bad service, is more interested in AI data centers than providing an actual working power grid to residents.
Very terrible company and customer support agents called to see how much it was to switch services over they said I needed to make an account before they could tell me anything and after I told them I wasn’t switch the service over they said okay now a week later after paying a $800 dollar bill they cancel the original account holders account on the house and we need to setup a whole new account and pay a security deposit all because I wanted to figure out how much it would cost to switch services when my sister moves out of... read more

WHEN YOU CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNT MAKE SURE YOU CALL BACK AFTER YOU GET YOUR FINAL BILL, REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE REPRESENTATIVE SAYS IF YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE PAYMENT ARRANGEMENTS. I’m extremely disappointed with how my account was handled by American Electric Power. When I closed my account October was my last month. Final bill came in November. I specifically asked how to handle the remaining balance. The representative told me I could simply make $50 monthly payments until it was paid off.
