My recent experience at the Emergency Department of Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital was deeply troubling and disappointing, primarily due to the behavior of one hospital employee. While my pregnant wife was being treated in a private room in the emergency department, I asked a simple and reasonable question: whether we could get a pair of pants to go with the hospital gown. I needed some medical help urgently and trying to decide which facility to visit was tough especially seeing the 3 star overall rating. But they had the best professional rating and equipment to address my needs so off I went. I was lucky because from the admittance, to triage, to the nurse, to techs, to the Dr. , I felt very cared for by everyone and I left feeling better than when I arrived and with a care plan.

For years, I’ve respected Good Samaritan Hospital for the quality of care they were once known for. There are positives to be acknowledged. I’ve had several visits in the past where the staff was kind, responsive, and professional. When my ankle was fractured earlier this year, the surgical team did an excellent job, and my procedure went smoothly. Dr. Daugherty, Who was my surgeon took the time to understand me.
