AT trips are designed for fun and adventure which they certainly deliver! What the trekkers also experience is: teamwork, problem solving, communal living, nature appreciation, effective communication, thriving without technology and sometimes overcoming adversity.
It’s an incredible experience — one that immerses our kids in the wilderness of nature, connects them with new friends, pushes their boundaries, and fosters fundamental, meaningful interactions. All of this happens under the guidance of inspiring tour guides, in a beautiful setting, and best of all, it comes with a much-needed break from screens.
As a mom who went on 3 life changing Adventure Treks trip as a teenager, I couldn’t wait to see if my son wanted to attend a trip. We are so glad he did and had such a wonderful experience. He has already mentioned other AT trips he’s interested for next summer and the hard part is deciding which one. He raved about the instructors and enjoyed all the activities, including his new favorite, rock climbing. Adventure Treks is the absolute best outdoor program, where a kid can learn, be challenged, grow as a community member, and even become a leader.
We sent our son on a 13 day trip with Adventure Treks. Our son canoed, backpacked, hiked and white water rafted. He's always liked these kinds of activities with us, but the experience was made so much more special by the AT instructors and the other kids on his trip. He gained real confidence. And most importantly to me, he gained an appreciation for having a positive mental outlook. This is an experience he will always remember.
