The old Sanitarium psych hospital on 601 E King St got demolished last year & is no longer there! I was walking around looking for it when I realized it’s no longer there!! Why is everything in Orlando so disposables & always changing…it’s super annoying It’s been there how many years?! Why did they decide to close it? P the psych unit where people are bankrupted was totally disgusting the staff was unprofessional and they didn't even care the nurses would swim in and out in one second without knowing anything about you and prescribing all his medicine. The doctor spelled in generalities I wouldn't even send my dog there. The doctors don't seem to care at all that is why there are so many suicides today and young people keep falling through the cracks. I plead to the doctors to help people
After mentioning wanting to be a walk-in patient and was ignored by the main hospital after my head injury symptoms from a previous concussion were not showing in films, which they don’t sometimes; was hoping for residential physical therapy; was turned down for a second opinion; then I relayed I had Suicidal thoughts; but after the awkward televisit w/their psychiatrist, was deemed “not Suicidal enough” and was released from my “Baker Act” where it’s supposed to be mandatory 72 hours. I just picked my wife up here, honestly its not the worst, BUT they definitely need some more funding or something. Only 1 group therapy the 3 days she was there. I also feel if they treated people based on their level of needs they would have a higher success rate. The nurses were awesome and so were the techs. They just need more resources.
