Dr. Staar-Kumosa is fantastic. I got injured pretty badly and the (completely separate from Advent) ER I went to gave me outdated referrals, refused to help me find new ones and failed to tell me I have a 2 week window to receive treatment. Dr. S-K learned I was 6 days post injury, immediately secured an appointment for me with a specialist and I now have a treatment plan in place. I am so grateful for how she fought for me as her patient and will recommend her to everyone!
This is less about the doctor than about the practice. I recently scheduled an annual exam looking for a new doctor since my previous doctor retired. I was asked to come in 20 minutes early, which I assumed meant I had paperwork to complete being a new patient. I waited 40 minutes before being seen and because the appointment started 20 minutes late, I had to leave early. I never provide 1-star reviews, but I received no notification at all that my doctor of many years is no longer my doctor, and the current doctors at this facility will not take new patients, not even ones from previous attending physicians. The person I spoke to on the phone claims they sent a letter. Nope. Now I have to scramble to find a new provider just to get my basic prescriptions filled. What an irresponsible process and practice. The folks on the phone did not care at all.
