Doctor was over an hour late to my new patient appointment. Then I learned as I was checking out that the doctor is leaving the company next month anyways. They forgot to take my copay when I checked in, so they yelled at me halfway down the hall as I was leaving to come back. Staff were friendly but there seems to be terrible communication and organizational skills here. Took two hours there for what was a 15 minute appointment.

A referral was sent by Orthopedic Dr. Alter to this group to see the neurologist. It was specifically sent to Dr. Vinas office. After 10 days of waiting for a phone call, I called Dr Vinas office to set up appointment. After the girl verified that the referral did come and that no one called me she transferred me to a voice-mail to leave a nessage.

The receptionist I spoke with today Melissa (Daytona Fl office #) went way out of her way to help me. I called very clueless and confused and just said that I needed to see a dr but I didn’t know who or what drs took my hmo. She took time out of her day to search all local advent family practices for a dr that took my insurance and had an opening for a new patient. Too many mistakes that wasted our time. Referral was made to a lab that doesn’t even take our insurance and my wife’s follow up appointment to review the lab results was made for four weeks later only to be canceled the day before. Reason……the provider always takes Fridays off. How did they not know that when the appointment was made? It wouldn’t be quite as bad if you we didn’t have to wait another 4 weeks for a new appointment! Very disappointed in this practice.
