I just want to say that I am looking for an optometrist in the San Angelo area and due to all of the derogatory reviews about the office staff and unprofessional behavior of the office manager, I will not be making an appointment at Advanced Eye Care. Thanks to all who posted reviews for saving me time, money, and high blood pressure.

WAY more expensive than other eye doctors I have used for similar service and contacts. Shop around not worth the $$. Whe I pointed out a discrepancy between what I should have paid after insurance vs what I was charged I was told it was my problem to work out with insurance company.
I saw Dr. Gold and liked her. She told me to wear my new contacts for a week then give her a call to order more or make adjustments. After a week I had 1 quick question I wanted answered before ordering more. There was no way I could communicate with Dr. Gold without making an appointment. I ordered the least amount possible without having my question answered. After thinking about it, I wish I had just picked up my prescription from them and taken it somewhere else for the contacts. 5 stars for Dr. Gold, 0 stars for the off... read more
Great place, great doctor. First time i went to see him, he told me NOT to buy glasses from him. I wouldn't see much difference. I came back a year later and got some. He also got fiberglass out of my eye...There was an issue where his staff sold me a pair of glasses that were not correct for my prescription. It took some convincing (ie talking to the dr, not the manager) to get them to correct it. bottom line, they did.
Prices are outrageous for the service. Doctor seemed like he was herding in patients. I do not feel like I got a thorough exam or was even cared about as a patient. I normally don't mind paying higher prices if the service is extraordinary...this was not the case. Staff was friendly enough, but I will not reccommend to friends and family.
All of the female staff were rude. They treated me like I was stupid when I didn't have an answer to their unexplained questions. The prices are ridiculous. Going back to my regular eye doctor, didn't know how good I had it!
