Do not honor their warranties. Kayak skin ripped at the seams (within one year of purchase) and they blamed over inflation. Noted that I had purchased their pump and was following their instructions by the letter. Finally they offered to replace a skin but not the inner bladder, both of which are not available to order. The Company has also been sold to a Canadian Company so good luck going through the small claims system.

I bought this straightedge kayak 3 years ago and it lasted 2 summers before the outer skin burst at the seams. AE told me it was due to overinflation, but I used their electric pump that has a setting to turn it off when it reaches the correct inflation. I kept the pressure relief valves clean and functional. I took great care of the kayak following all the instructions for cleaning and storing. Looking at the split seams it appears to me that they are poorly manufactured. I bought a single person AE/West Marine inflatable kayak and used it about a dozen times. Inflated with AE foot pump. Did not leave it in the sun. Dried before folding it, placed into bag. Stored in garage. The boat was not mistreated. Paper thin inner tube patch is shown in photo since AE kept my original tube, mailed to them for evidence. $15 postage. The tube looks new, except for several invisible leaks in the tiny seams (1/16 or 1/8 inch?) surrounding its thin entire exterior. AE acknowledges that split seams cannot be ... read more

I bought a single person AE/West Marine inflatable kayak and used it about a dozen times. Inflated only with a foot pump. Never left in the sun. Dried before putting it away. Stored in the garage. Paper thin inner tube patch is shown in photo. Repairs did not work. Leaks split the super thin material and its tiny 1/8 inch seams could not be patched. (I mailed the entire tube to AE as it fit into a small P.O. box. AE wanted postage to return it or $100 to purchase a new one.) As you can see by the letter, they stated it is UN... read more

I am a small person and it took me a while to find a kayak that I could assemble & carry myself. Advanced Elements' AdvancedFrame Ultralite inflatable kayak is perfect - right size, right weight, and handles very well in water. Thank you Adv Elements for giving me a new sport.
