We bought our house last summer, and there was already an ADT system installed by the previous owners. Please, for the love of God, DO NOT sign up with ADT! A salesman named Ian came to my house and promised there was no contract and that I could cancel anytime. He told me I’d pay $60, but they’re charging me $77. Now, more than half a year later, I call to cancel and they tell me Ian signed me up for a 3-YEAR CONTRACT WITHOUT MY CONSENT! And if I want to cancel early, I have to pay nearly $3,000!!! If I could leave ZERO stars, I would. I’ve been a loyal ADT customer for several years, but my experience has been nothing but frustration and disappointment. If you ever try and cancel your services good luck. I was on the phone for exactly 1 hour and 14 minutes. What they don’t tell you is you get billed for 30 more days after you cancel. This company is a joke please pick someone else. I sold my house and that process can fall through so I do not cancel things until it’s official. Pretty much ADT will charge you for services that they are not even going to provide you. Please stay away from this company at all cost. There are better ones out there. USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU THINK TAKING ADVANTAGE OF A DEAD PERSONS FAMILY IS ACCEPTABLE. My sister died in February and I found out she had a previous account that did not get closed for a home she didn’t even live in at the time of death. Her account was paid up until her death- all we wanted them to forgive were the charges after her death - all other charges were paid.
