My advice: do not get ADT. We had ADT for years and dealt with repeated equipment failures, including sensors that stopped working, an unreliable doorbell camera, and eventually a panel that barely functioned. After we canceled, a local sales rep came to our home and told us our previous balance would be wiped so we could start fresh. Based on that, we signed a new contract, had equipment replaced, and paid for a new doorbell camera. Be very careful when dealing with ADT. I canceled my service on May 27. At the time of cancellation, ADT actually owed me a little over $7. Today, purely by chance, I checked my account because I had never received that credit. To my surprise, I found that I now owe $49.22. When I contacted customer service, I was told that my account remains active for 30 days after I submit a cancellation request and that they continue "monitoring" the property during that period.
