DO NOT GET ADT. I WAS LITERALLY ROBBED UNDER SUPERVISION OF ADT. I WAS TRANSFERRED 8 DIFFERENT TIMES AND NOBODY WOULD HELP THIS PHONECALL WAS OVER AN HOUR LONG . THEY WILL NOT LET ME CANCEL THE PLAN WITHOUT PAYING OVER $1000. I NOW HAVE 18K GONE AND THEY WANT ME TO ROB ME OF AN ADDITIONAL $1000 TO CANCEL BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T HOLD UP ON THEIR END OF THEIR CONTRACT. THE CAMERAS RARELY WORK. I JUST GOT THIS SYSTEM IN APRIL AND HAVE HAD NOTHING BUT ISSUES.
ADT - the absolute worst customer service experience, stay away. Had to get new equipment due to the existing 7 yr old equipment constantly failing and sending false alarms. Was told one thing regarding billing at time of new equipment install and turned out it was a complete lie as the following week i received a bill structure that was much different than what I was told at time of install. have had 6 different phone calls with over 23 people between Account Managers and Billing and still no resolution - ask for a Supervis... read more
Be aware that the ADT security system has proven to be unreliable. It frequently experiences glitches, missed alerts, and inconsistent video recordings. I’ve encountered multiple incidents where the alarm deactivated on its own and the video recording stopped unexpectedly. In one particular case, the doorbell camera failed to record a pizza delivery, even though the device was active and motion detection was set to its highest sensitivity. Military veteran that got orders to move. My wife and I spent 2 months calling and emailing trying to get them to cancel our contract (as allowed by law); the process is utter chaos, complicated and designed to make people give up rather than move to a different service. I don’t know if my experience is site-specific, but I can say with full confidence that it’s ADT-specific. Their customer service is, hands down, the worst I have ever encountered. They charged me a labor fee for a 12-minute visit — without ever disclosing it in advance. When I called to get clarification or a refund, the nightmare began: First rep: sounded drunk.
