The guides were cool, but even they said that the snowmobiles are old and they can’t afford to get new ones. That makes them dangerous and it was proven by me going flying off at 40mph. The guide was going about 80 in front of me with an 8 year old on the back and I was trying to keep up. Snowmobiling isn’t easy and it’s very risky, but they make you sign all your rights away so they can make it as dangerous as they want. Wow what a wonderful experience to share with my son. This family run snowmobile outfit is right in Lake Placid and sits adjacent to a public snowmobile exclusive trail. Each tour has 2 guides, a front guide for those who like to go fast (up to 100km/hr) and a rear guide for those who like to take it easy. After the tour, the owner took my son and I on a private snowmobile tour of his sprawling property so my son could ride his own. So generous. If you are looking at this review, it is safe to assume that you are considering doing a snowmobile rental. Look no further and book it! The location is literally a few minutes from town, the staff is fantastic, the sleds are well maintained and ready to go, and the memory of the ride will be forever!
