I came to get treatment for hyperthyroid. Graves and hyper runs strong in my family line. My tsh was .42 and because it was in “range” she proceeded to tell me it’s not my thyroid but an issue with my heart and that everyone wants to blame the thyroid. I was diagnosed with subclinical hyperthyroidism in 2013. I took Methimazole for 9 years. In 2022, I asked my endocrinologist if I could try to go off Methimazole. She said as long as I didn’t have symptoms, it was fine. So, I went off and was symptom-free for about a year and a half. I started having severe symptoms (palpitations, high blood pressure, dizziness) very suddenly in October 2024.
