Waited only 6 months for a psychiatrist and felt rather optimistic. My FIRST appointment she was 20 minutes late. I was prescribed a medication and sent on my way before my appointment was officially over. This medication could cause serotonin syndrome which can be lethal and also looks very similar to the PNES symptoms she was supposed to be treating. I called Mental Health when i was suicidal. Know what they told me? "Got a file? Got a file? Get a dr to refer you then we'll help you. Its not my problem sir. Yes, we closed your prior therapy account because we hadnt heard from you. No sir, we dont check the voicemails. Sir, your mood doesnt affect me. They love to give you questionnaires that assess your mental health, but have yet to reach the point to figure out how to actually help. If you enjoy circling 3's on a sheet of paper and then having someone shrug their shoulders at you after asking for help, this is the place to be
The receptionists are lacking communication, passing inaccurate information to clients before knowing what jobs are actually completed in their own facility. Rude, nosy, disrespectful administrators. One counselor I saw here was so absolutely clueless and terrible it shocked me she had the job as a line of support to protect people from harming themselves. Why get into this career if you don't actually care.
