Very poor service. Would not recommend
ACT installed an alarm system for my parents a number of years ago. Since then they have maintained and managed that system faultlessly throughout. My parents recently passed away and since then ACT have helped me to transfer the account into my name and to handle certain aspects of the transition. *UPDATE* Today, the Operations Manager at A.C.T. Excel called me. He was polite and well-spoken, taking the time to explain the cause, effect, and steps taken to fix the issue. In short, my Google review prompted an internal company investigation to determine what went wrong. It seems that a recent change in the billing platform resulted in poorly worded emails and letters being sent to customers, regardless of whether they had ever purchased the alarm warranty. Dear Reader, please exercise caution when dealing with this company -specifically the after-sales service. Personally, I find the cost of the alarm system's post-warranty service, at a rate exceeding £500 per annum, to be exorbitant. This amount is not significantly lower than the initial purchase price of the unit, which is why I have always refrained from acquiring it.
