I would not waste my time booking this motel. The manager was nice and allowed an early check-in and that was appreciated by us but from the time we pulled in we knew we had made a mistake by booking this motel. Car in the parking lot jacked up, tire off, tools laying around. Inside the room the smell of too much cleaner cover an odor we did not recognize. Great pet-friendly hotel right off the interstate. Updated, Clean, fresh and relaxing with huge rooms. Will definitely be back. The owners were so kind and accommodating, they turned on our heat, before we got there in a 12° Arctic blast.

Ok place and it worked in our travels. The rooms were clean and accommodating but we couldn't get hot water in the morning, Luke warm. Other than that it was quiet and a easy in and out.

The rating behind the check in counter was 98, that caused me to not look at the room for cleanliness, when entering the room there was about 10 flys buzzing around and the bath tub had mildew all around the caulking, we were on a 6 day motorcycle trip and of all the rooms we stayed in, this was the worst and came in 2nd as the worst in our 25 years of traveling. I let that (imho) bogus rating cause me to break one of my rules of always looking at the room before paying. Never again! Renter beware

My family and I stayed at Acorn Motel for two nights and we really enjoyed our stay. The room was cozy, cool, and clean. The motel staff were accommodating and helpful. I would absolutely recommend this motel to anyone looking for a quiet, quaint place to stay in Black Mountain.
