Had an issue with a door locking mechanism on a front door sticking meaning the door would not close. Called Acorn at 10am and Steve was able to get to me at 1pm to assess the problem. Half an hour later he had fixed the ‘gear’, serviced the entire mechanism and provided advice on how to prevent a repeat. Call out charge was very reasonable. Polite, efficient, high quality work and reasonable price - highly recommended.

I used this particular firm to have my home windows re-glazed before the winter comes. In the beginning they were extremely attentive and promised me a good service and good quality windows. I agreed to them carrying out the work on their "trustworthy" basis and "portfolio". They turned up late day 1, they didn't have correct tools to finish the job that day. Quoted for a conservatory rebuild. Ask for one-third up front to pay for materials. Paid the deposit and they did a decent job on the brickwork side. Then asked for the balance of the money up front to pay for the glass and roof materials, this was paid and they have not been seen since: two months with a part built conservatory, £2000 paid in advance, supposedly to pay for expensive materials and vanished the day after they got the money. Excellent trader. Prompt, courteous and knowledgeable service, provided a quote quickly and responded to queries very quickly. Work carried out comfortably within the agreed timeframe. Had a replacement window and replacement of internal decorative glass. Work carried out very quickly and efficiently, with very little mess. Replacement window has significantly reduced traffic noise and eradicated draught coming through.
