I tend to live by the mantra: never ascribe to malice that which can be explained by incompetence, but in this case I must insist on malice. I was having an issue with a clogged catalytic converter. I was quoted around $900, after being told it was a great deal - down from $1200. I told them to go ahead, but moment later found myself distraught by the price.
