The waiting game – Was told fifteen minutes... 47 minutes later we were sat down. Only to see that there were probably twenty five tables not even being used. Waitress took forever to get to us. My three year old was out of control because the wait was so long.... nightmare
!!!! – Never eaten there but was prepared to take 15 people for Mother's Day...NOT! They won't take reservations! Not even for a large party on a special occasion!
Average Mexican fare that can be up or down – I have been eating here for years and I still dine here occasionally but their consistancy can vary from visit to visit. Even though I've had both good and bad experiences, I always try to remember the good ones when I go back. It seems like over the years, it's been like a rollercoaster ride with their consistancy and I feel that back when Acapulco restaurants were Los Arcos, they were actually better. All I can say is, give it a try for yourself and make up your own mind. Watch... read more
Nice upgrade! – I'm not a fan of El Torito, but somehow, my girlfriend convinced me to try their upscale restaurant. Well I was pleasantly surprised. We've been to the champagne brunch three times and we get stuffed each time. They have fresh fruit, deserts, waffles and mexican dishes all ready to go. It's one of those places that you have to pace yourself.
Just ok – I have been here a couple of times and I did not like the menu...I like more traditional mexican food. I did not like the decor or seating area. Bright and glaring. Did not have a homey feel to the place. The food for me was just ok.
Best Mexican in Eugene/Springfield – What separates El Torito from a typical Mexican food restaurant in Eugene is the quality of the food and, surprisingly, the prices. You can easily taste the fresh ingredients in each of El Torito's dishes, yet they're somehow also very reasonably priced. The generous entres range around $9 - $12, but be prepared to receive far more than the price suggests. El Torito delivers authentic and "American" Mexican dishes that spare no ingredients or quality. Plus, you can get half-off appetizers... read more
Best Mexican & Best service! – We had amazing food, great price and an amazing server. The appetizers are sometimes larger than the actual entrees. The prices are outstanding. The servers there are helpful and friendly. Bottom line: Best Mexican food in Eugene!
a nice view and some mexican food – I went here with my friend while I was visiting Monterey. We had a nice view of the ocean and a comfy booth to enjoy it in. The service was a bit slow. I felt like we were forgotten for a time. I got the enchilata and snacked on the chips and salsa. They were not quick to refill our drinks and the check took its time getting to our table. At least we were enjoying good conversation and were not in a hurry to get somewhere.
good mexican food – Go here all the time and always order the chicken and sour cream enchiladas. Love the margaritas and pina coladas, too.
