Animal abusing puppymill We bought 1 great dane from them and while the dane "lucy" was exceptionally beautiful you could tell that these animals had been abused. Lucy was ridiculously timid and afraid of all people. She was also extremely afraid of even people (us) when we had things like newspapers in our hands.

Shame on them My dogs were not right for days after going to this kennel. Once I asked them not to bath them just to see what they would look like and it was clear that they had never had the kennel cleaned. They were covered with feces. My dog would do anything to stay away from there own poo so I know it was bad kennel care.

Can't subject my pet to this anymore I've taken my dog to AA for several years, but no more. The main reason for chosing them was location. The staff has always been friendly but each time I would pick up my dog, he is in shock. It takes a least a week for him to get back to his old self. Most recently he came home with a strip of hair on his hind leg ripped off. They said the duct tape that was on his pillow got stuck. Would appreciate suggestions of alternative places to take my 13 year old,

Not on the top of my list.... We boarded our dogs here because it has nice facilites and the people were very friendly, plus location location location :) They are a family run business and have experience with Great Danes, i believe they breed/bred them. We have a large breed dog, so their facilities were good for her. My problems with this place arose when we went to pick up our dogs. I paid before they got them out, which is always good practise as the dogs tend to get hyped up when they know they are going home. The nice... read more

Don't trust them I took my dog there once, but I won't go back. They wouldn't let me see where she was going to be, even though they said they would on the phone when I made my reservation. I didn't have time to find a different place because I was on my way to the airport. When I picked her up, they brought her bag of food back. When I got home, I realized that hardly any of it was gone. I called and they said that that's what they fed her. I asked if she ate while I was gone for a week and the person I spoke to said he did... read more

Satisfied purchaser I purchased a beautiful male Great Dane from them and was very happy. I??ve seen many of their breed of Danes kept there and they are very impressive. The owner not only selected the right size and quality of dog I wanted from her experience of breeding the Danes but also helped me with his ears until he was of age so they would look right. Academy Acres is very professional and I can not see any other kennel knowing as much as they have earned the right to practice for many years. I purchased my Great Da... read more

Absolutely the worst! My dog came back so emaciated, it was surprising he was still walking. He was also filthy and covered in feces. When asked about the condition of our dog, they said that he was brought to them in that condition! Then we were treatly very rudely and rushed out the door. We had left them with a big bag of food, canned food and treats, all which went somewhere (to their Great Danes???) but obviously not to dog. We took our dog to the vets who found that our dog had become so starved, it's stomach had rocks... read more
