STOP! As others have said this Doctor has zero empathy, compassion or concern about your condition or you as a human being. Academic Urology is a Corporate Assembly Line and there to rush you through. Dr. Schlaifer will not answer questions and when she does the answers are short, uninformative and rude. Ask a question and she will cut you off in mid sentence! She DOES NOT explain procedures and is very rough in handling your most sensitive areas. Her staff walks on eggshells and are afraid of her. The emotional stress this Doctor was horrible! There are a few people on her staff that were polite, informative and professional. I had Urolift done and bleed profusely for two days. STOP!!! Read reviews. Abrazo Urology has some much better CARING Doctors. Dr. Schlaifer should be admonished for her unprofessional behavior, lack of compassion and empathy and retrained on what it means to be a Doctor caring for people. Academic Urology the worst choice you can make. STOP!

I recently had surgery with Dr. Kundavaram. What as positive experience. Cathy the surgical scheduler is very knowledgeable, calming and caring. She went above and beyond multiple times to help me. A big thank you to both Dr. K and Cathy for everything.

Neglect patient care. Zero responsibility for patient care. I had a PSA blood test done to check for prostate cancer. A standard test at my age. Several weeks after the test I called to get my results. First, the person insisted I had to make an appointment to get the results. To be clear, under HIPAA I am legally entitled to all my health records. No appointment necessary. I explained I lived in rural Arizona (there is no urologist where I live), three hours away, and did not see reason to drive six hours round-trip for blood work results. After an argument, they agreed to provide the results over the phone. This began a four to five week saga. First, the office claimed (falsely) the results had not been faxed to them. I verified they had been faxed. The office insisted the results had not been faxed. This took three phone calls. I called the lab and the person kept me on the line while the fax went through once again. Once I was certain the practice had been faxed the results, over the next two weeks I made another four to five calls to the office. None of my messages were returned. Finally, I sent an email giving 24 hours to present me with my results or I would file a complaint with the medical board. I received a call the same day. The next part is unbelievable: They called the lab and still claimed the results had not been faxed. This is now well over two months since my blood had been drawn. It took two months of calls and a threat to contact the medical board to get them to call the lab. If they truly cared about their patients, that call would have been made two months earlier. Once they called the lab, they didn't even ask for the results! They said it was patient responsibility to get the results. If they truly cared about their patients, they would have asked for the results and passed them on to me. What is ultimately clear is this practice does not care about their patients. It is simply a money making venture. They claimed I had the responsibility to get my results. Exactly what is the provider's responsibility to the patient? Apparently they have none. Exactly what does this practice provide in terms of health care? Little to nothing. Once they get their co-pay and payment from insurance they do nothing for their patients. I still do not have the results of my blood work. It has been three months.

Wish I could give negative 5 million stars!! Today was the most exasperating experience I've ever encountered with a healthcare provider. My scheduled appointment was 11:15 A.M. and after waiting an hour and 45 minutes I was finally escorted to an examining room. After waiting another 15 minutes, someone came in wheeling a portable ultrasound device and announced she was doing an ultrasound to see how well I emptied my bladder a few minutes ago. I am formed her that I had not used the bathroom in several hours and that my bladder functions properly it just needs to be "lifted" back into place. She informed me she would have to tell the physicians assistant who would be coming in to speak to me. I was taken aback because I was supposed to see Dr Keri Wong, about scheduling my surgery to correct this very serious situation I'm dealing with at the present time. I showed the "technician" (if that's what she was because she never informed me if she had the proper training to use the ultrasound equipment because quite frankly she seemed oblivious) a photo of the severity of my problem and that I needed immediate attention. Her reply, "we see this all the time". I told her I did not wait two hours to "talk" to a PA. When I made the appointment I was told Dr. Wong would be scheduling surgery and that the purpose of my appointment was to discuss surgery that I so desperately need. This so-called technician looked at me with a blank stare. No response. The only person in the office who appeared to be competent was a young girl named Ashley, at the reception desk, who is very kind. The rest of the staff is oblivious, incompetent and very unfriendly, as stated in many reviews here on this site. I decided to leave and will find another doctor because I will not deal with the total incompetence and lack of understanding. And waiting two hours is ridiculous! If you show up two hours late to a doctor appointment, you will be charged a no-show fee and they will not see you. Who do they think they are keeping patients waiting for two hours! They need to come down to earth and realize that my time is just as valuable as theirs - they are not God!! They really need to get their act together because I spoke to people in the waiting room whose appointments were 15 minutes to thirty minutes to 45 minutes after mine, And they were called in before me but many of them said they had waited over an hour. I don't know how they stay in business - they appear to be totally incompetent and I told them they better not dare bill my insurance company because I was not seen by a doctor or anyone else. And by the way, I snapped a few photos of the examining room that show very unsanitary conditions. Frankly, they did me a favor by forcing me to find another doctor. Stay away stay away stay away
