My parents usually stay at the Hilton Bayfront when they come to visit- this time I had them book at the AC hotel-huge mistake. It was a Thursday and Friday stay. The room was so unbelievably loud till 3 am. The room even came with earplugs and which should’ve been the first red flag. When we expressed our concern the front desk simply said “you’re downtown, what do you expect?” And blew it off like we were crazy. No apology. Nothing. The review is for POOL day pass. The hotel pool is gorgeous. You can buy a $25 pool day pass to visit. The pool is on the 6th floor and has a beautiful view of the downtown skyline. Towels are not included. The bar starts serving at 4 PM. There are no sun umbrellas in the pool area, so during the day it can be too sunny. The shade from the nearby tall building starts to cover the pool around 1:30 PM and covers it completely by 3 PM in summer. That’s the perfect time to enjoy both the sun and then chill in the shade.
From the moment we walked into the hotel, we felt right at home. The reception staff was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and always eager to help. The entire property is exceptionally well maintained and spotless, we noticed the attention to cleanliness everywhere, from the breakfast area and guest rooms to the pool. Overall, we had a very nice staycation in St. Petersburg at the AC Hotel. I see some of the negative reviews and I get it. Google is a great spot to be informative and objective. They probably did have a bad experience, but I feel most people with compliments don’t typically reply. So let me share our experience. 1. Parking: Park across the street at the Sundial garage. Great location in downtown St. Petersburg. Good restaueants close by. Rooms a little bit small but very clean, super friendly and helpfull frontdesk, nice lobby. Only Valet parking offered.
