Our reservation was canceled at the last minute after we had driven two hours to get there. We were told there were no rooms available because the hotel was fully booked. However, after checking online, rooms were still showing as available, yet the front desk continued to insist there was no availability. Thankfully, we were able to book a room at the Hyatt House across the street, and it ended up saving our weekend. Overall, the experience was extremely disappointing. I booked this room several months ago through Hotels.com. I arrived around 2:00 p.m. on the Fourth of July to check in. The front desk told me my room wasn’t ready yet, which I completely understood since it was still before the official check-in time. About 30 minutes later, however, I received a phone call informing me that my reservation had been canceled because they had attempted to charge the credit card on file that morning and the charge did not go through. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. My husband and I drove two hours to stay here, only to receive an email canceling our reservation the day we arrived. When we got to the hotel, we were told our room had been given to someone else and that the hotel was completely full, leaving us with nowhere to stay.
