Unfortunately after 13 beautiful years with our pup, we had to make the difficult decision to put him down. From start to finish, everyone involved in the process was amazing. We couldn't have asked for a better, more seamless process. The room is calming and peaceful and you have the opportunity to spend the last moments with your pet exactly the way it should be. We normally use ventnor vet and have done so since we got our first dog, because he had been a patient there already. Sadly, Odin developed a terminal condition at 14 years and things went downhill quickly over a weekend when our vet was closed. Absecon veterinary hospital did a wonderful and compassionate job with Odin and made a terrible situation the best that it could be. I'm very grateful for them being there when we needed help. I've spent thousands and thousands of dollars here trying to get my dog to have a better life and have even taken my cat there towards the end of his life. I believed in this place but they are just here to rob you and some staff on the phone do not have any empathy or sympathy. They force you to pay ER fee's when you should be able to get an appointment and pay regular fees but they then tell you that they are weeks booked out. We have been to this ER twice with our dog. First time, he was a puppy and was having a cluster of focal seizures for the first time. We had no idea at the time what was going on with him. We checked in the ER very late and the staff was absolutely phenomenal. We were so stressed and they were so helpful, kind, and patient. The meds to break the seizure didn't work immediately and we had to decide to have him stay overnight and be drugged to sleep or try at home. He was only 6 months and our first dog. I brought my pup Ceelo in yesterday for getting into the trash as an emergency visit and EVERYONE was amazing! Thank you so much for taking a scary moment for my old pup and I and making it manageable and loving. He’s so much better today!
