My experience with Dr. Abraham Betancourt was deeply disappointing. I only saw him at the initial consultation, when he recommended surgery. I did not see him at the second consultation, the preoperative appointment, after surgery, or even at the follow-up appointment three weeks later. I met this dr friday timing was ok first visit he was honest but in my opinion it was like going to a car dealer he didn't give me a chance to think about if I wanted to proceed with his weightloss program nor did he examine me properly didn't allow me to talk kept butting in and told his team I was interested in his program when I didn't don't get me wrong it's probaly a good 3 month program but it's just not for me at this time
Wait times are way too long. 1 hour in the waiting room and another hour waiting for the doctor after they bring you in. I left early that time. Gave them another chance and was waiting in the waiting room for an hour again. I decided to leave and find another doctor. I would not trust a doctor to perform surgery on me when they are that unorganized.
This team,from the front reception, to Dr.Betancourt,to his pre-op and post-op coordinators and everyone in between are amazing. In a large group setting like theirs you often only find a couple of people that go above and beyond standard protocol, but this team?...... Everyone does. I went in for a general surgery consult,but left that first appointment with an understanding that obesity is an actual disease,not a willpower problem.
