As many families already know, the journey once a family member is diagnosed with Dementia has it's many challenges. My husband was in a horrible rehab and I needed to get him out of there asap. I was so blessed when a friend told me about Above and Beyond at the Knights. Within 10 minutes, I was on the phone with Nyla. She came to see Bill and accepted him for residency that week. Since then, he has been more comfortable than in his two hospital stays. Three years ago, I would have given this facility, a much higher rating. But their turnover of staff has caused a shift in my opinion. The current administration has been uncooperative and supplying requested information and communication with the family has been lacking.
My father and my Aunt have been residents at Above and Beyond at the Knights for about 3 years in their Memory Care unit. Naila and the staff are extraordinary! From Nicki, at the front desk, who greets you with a big smile and a warm welcome to Amal, Fufu, Tess and the rest of the amazing nurses, aids and support staff; they truly go above and beyond! My Mom has been in the memory care area of A&B since 2022. She transferred from another facility that said they could no longer meet her needs. From day one, the care here has been excellent. She is always, clean, well-fed, and treated with dignity and kindness. The staff are dedicated, attentive, compassionate and loving from Nikki at the front desk, to aides like Amal, Sarah and all the others.
