Abhaya is the real deal. All teachers are excellent, the schedule runs the gamut from Meditation, Chandra Yoga to high-powered Vinyasa classes and fast-paced intermediate to advanced classes. Tara Glazier has an incredible scope and breadth of experience and knowledge, which she communicates with an upbeat energy, openness, warmth and humor. I love her classes, and just recently completed their teacher training, which is excellent. Serious in-person teaching, exploration, reading, and practicing. Couldn´t recommend it more.
Tara, the owner, is an incredible mentor, guide, and the just the coolest! Everything about the 200hr Teacher Training at Abhaya Yoga, that she led, was transformative, humbling, enriching, and beautiful. The silent retreat was a pivotal way to start the journey. Tara's level 2 / intermediate classes are SO fun. I've learned and done more in those classes in the past few months than in my previous years of open level yoga!
This is such a warm and welcoming yoga studio and the teachers- esp Addy- are great! Highly recommend!
Abhaya is a truly special place. I’ve tried many yoga studios in Brooklyn and there’s a reason this has become my go-to even though there are studios closer to where I live. People come from all over the city to take class here, especially with Tara, and once you experience it you can understand why.
