Absolutely appalling service, my mum went in and has left feeling worse. The psychiatrist shooed her out when she said she wasn't feeling well. Group sessions with no therapist. Go somewhere else. Just a number in there, wouldn't be surprised if more people come out worse. Nursing staff had no idea on nicotine gum and limited that, whilst people had no restrictions on smoking. Was in for four days and had little to no care. Disgusting.
I am a current patient here and to tell you to save you and your insurance the money. Nursing staff are great, food ok but is definitely a prison..... I am still yet for a single psychiatric doctor to treat my mental health. All they have managed to do is not listen and over medicate. I don't even get a say on what I am given. Unless you are an alcoholic or drug addicted they don't give a shit. Dr Tiyatiye I feel has no compassion and is simply a box ticker.
I absolutely despise having to write negative reviews like this but unfortunately is has to be done due to staff not being accommodating for the target clients/patients. I spoke to Sarah from reception who was very easy to work with. Even though we went in circles at no fault of her own nor mine, we were progressively moving forward in making a booking for myself. Incompetent doctors and nurses! They’ve been giving my son a medication that he has a paradoxal reaction to despite me warning them about it at the start, so at the end my son had an extreme reaction to that! After that they refused to communicate with me and just discharged him! I’m suing them for medical negligence, avoid this place at all costs!
From the nursing staff, psychologists,psychiatrists, admin and hospitality staff I have had a positive experience and treated with the up most care, even when I had been struggling to care for myself. I underestimate how challenging it is catering to the needs of people receiving the treatment that Abbotsford has to offer but am grateful for your help.
