I encourage patients to take an active role in their own health care. I make recommendations/suggestions to patients, but it is their ultimate choice on how to use those suggestions to improve their health. I feel that personal responsibility for one's health goes a long way toward a healthy life.

Great!
I felt I had no choice but to replace Dr. Young when he told me he didn't believe me about an adverse reaction to a new medication he prescribed on a previous visit. With a history of allergic reactions to medication and Dr. Young's knowledge of this, I was dumbfounded by what he said. He has had to change every medication he's ever prescribed for me at least once and sometimes twice in the four years and more that he has been my physician. Hence my decision to find a new doctor.
I have always had great interactions and experiences with Dr. Young as well as his nurse. I have had my children at his practice for 6-7 years. His medical assistant Andrew however ruins the patient experience & has no empathy. He is very condescending & while I can only guess it's because of his lack of experience with patients, I still feel it's wrong. I feel all office staff that deal with patients on a regular basis no matter their title should have integrity & speak to patients with respect
I feel very satisfied and well cared for. "Going to the doctor" is actually a most pleasant experience.
Dr Young was a good doctor. Now he's swamped with patients so getting an appointment is next to impossible. I have a been a patient since he was new to sjmed and a chronic issue causes me to come in regularly, but the last several appointments both he and his nurse do not even recognize me! When a physician cannot recognize a long term patient due to greedily scheduling too many patients it is time to find a new doctor. One star out of five is one too many.
My wife and myself have been seeing Doctor Young for years. We have the trust factor for Doctor young and all of the caring people around him. Plus he is a very good person. JP.OC.
