I had a similar bad impression from Steve. Steve seems to dodge talking to you (this is not the thing that would hinder me from choosing him though). With Steve, you can gather all the information for him and mail it to him 3 weeks before your appointment (as he prefers) to have his secretary call you the day of the consult to tell you you have a lack of information for an appeal? He is a very considerate man that is willing to go above and beyond to help you. If he can't help you, he will tell you this and recommend you to someone else.
DO NOT use him as an attorney. He looks out for himself instead of looking out for his clients. All he wants is the big payout, every time I tried to talk to him I was brushed off to another employee. Also, if you intend to use him, expect at least 6 months wait before ever getting a phone call from him.
