My trans in my Silverado went so I took it over to aamco in south Plainfield. I spoke with both Sean and bob and they are both very professional. The truck took longer than we expected some parts ended up being wrong and they found a few other things that were not up to their standard. This place can put in danger your life. On April 10, 2026 I brought my vehicle to AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care in South Plainfield for a transmission replacement. After I picked up the vehicle, the transmission malfunctioned and almost caused me to have an accident. I later learned that a used/old transmission had been installed. I contacted the shop and asked them to correct the problem, but they refused to help. This place is THE EXAMPLE of why people DO NOT TRUST mechanics. Had my car towed to this location, after they said they did a diagnosis (which they changed almost $300.00) and looked over “what may be the issue” they wanted to charge me $4600 to fix the vehicle. I said no, that’s way too expensive. They called me back maybe a hour later saying, oh it maybe XYZ, and they could fix for $2500. I said NO, trusting my gut. The gentlemen there are simply amazing. I scheduled with Sean and he was very professional and kind. I also spoke with Felix and he was incredibly informative and fixed my problem in the same day. Totally worth the drive. Thank you guys for relieving my stress with my car!
