I was told by my general mechanic and a transmission shop that my transmission was gone. My mechanic said I needed a remanufactured transmission for $3200. The transmission shop told me they could rebuild it for $2800. I was upset so I called Carmax where I bought the car 3 years ago and asked what they would do.
