I took my daughters car to AAMCO for a ‘Shift System Failure’ issue. After speaking to owner, Michael Harendt, I agreed to a $95 diagnostic fee. Several days later, Michael informed me that a more extensive diagnostic was required. After determining water in the wiring harness was the cause of the problem, I paid $782.48 for diagnostic & repairs. So expensive over $8,000.00 to try to fix promaster van 2016 , i was there for the transmission and they said is not that transmission, is something wrong with the brakes calipers , and charge me $8k after a week I come back , because van still dosent work, and then , they said yes is the transmission $1500 more to just opened and see whats wrong !!! I went to another shop close to there and they fix my transmission for $2800.00 and now is running very well
I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with AAMCO of Spring, Texas, and I feel compelled to share my story to help others avoid the same pitfalls. Firstly, while they offer a free diagnostic service, it turned out to be just the first of many issues. The initial diagnosis was incorrect, as I've noticed from other reviews as well. 2000$ and 3 Weeks later. Awful service and communication. Was told the problem was going to be diagnosed. After diagnosis and getting the so called problem “fixed” another arose. Tried to charge me MORE to fix the secondary problem when I had ALREADY paid to have the problem diagnosed and fixed in the first place. Was told it would take 1 week. 3 weeks later just now receiving the car. Bare minimum was fixed. Guy in charge was patronizing and clearly trying to get the best bang for his buck
