They will hit you for stripped drain plug Very shady. Claimed that my drain plug was stripped and tried to charge me $30 for another one. Then when I questioned him on it, he comes back and says, oops, wrong car. They charge 2x as much for oil change as Firestone, Car -X, Midas, Michel. I went to them to avoid a super cheap oil change and here they try to trick me.
good service Went to Bob Sumerel in Hyde Park plaza. I had badly bent my rim and the tire was flat. I left the tire overnite, used the spare and the tire was ready to go the next day. I could have been charged for a new tire from someone unscrupulous, but I was not. An employee had driven the car to make sure the alignment was ok. Pleasant, quick service. All for $15. Another time, got a tire patched. Great service, $28.
Oil Change Rip Off Wife had an oil change and they talked her into buying a new drain plug saying the other was stripped. What a rip off on all women...........
Review These folks keep trying to hire me. They never offer me enough money. If Bob Sumerel really cared, wouldn't he really care? I have bills to pay, sports cars to drive, country dachas on the lake....I couldn't possibly keep up my life style on the pittance they have offered me.
Great people I was recently in the downtown Sumerel store and was greeted with a smile and I was able to leave with a smile. The store was busy but the manager took time to take care of my needs. I was offered a ride so I didn't have to wait. The staff was knowledgeable and trustworthy which is hard to find in the auto repair industry. I have learned from other shops to always double check my bill but was relieved to see I was charged exactly what was quoted. Watch your bill !!! I work downtown. I first learned of BS when I had my oil changed by this location through the service provided by the parking company in my building downtown. The oil change was convenient and at $24.99, without me even having to take the car in and waste precious time better spent on work, could not be beat. That experience caused me to want to go to this place when I needed all four of my tires changed. My experience in person, however was not as pleasant. Convenient Downtown Tire Store Bob Sumerel Tire is a really convenient place to get work done on your car or have new tires installed. Their new shop allows people who work downtown to drop off their car before work, and pick it up after work. They'll also give you a ride to and from your office if you don't want to walk. Their prices are very competitive, and the staff there is friendly and knows lots about the tires they sell. They don't always have things in stock, but can get just about any tire from their main warehouse... read more
