I brought a batch of mixed scrap gold (including a 10K chain, a 14K chain, and a 22K British Half Sovereign coin brooch) to A&A Jewellers for a cash quote based on melt value. My total gold weight was approximately 11 grams across the different purities. They offered a flat rate of $475 CAD for the entire lot. I immediately refused. Updated review: A&A is probably my FAVOURITE local business. I wanted to make a small change to my grandma’s engagement ring, they made suggestions and I ended up changing the centre stone for a larger diamond. I gasped when I picked up the ring because of how beautifully they made the changes. I would never go to any other jewelry store.
