Look I have the AA plus, for a long holiday. They came assessed my car and I got it towed back to Christchurch from Queenstown which AA covered. Thank goodness I had them! There are low reviews on here but honestly they saved me & our holiday, and it wasn’t easy to sort but they did it. They went over if it would be easier to get a mechanic to fix it before I returned from holiday and potentially extend my stay or to return. It seems that Breakdown mechanics get commission for upselling battery replacement, that's shocking, disappointing and immoral. I requested a jump start as my dealer told me the battery will be replaced under warranty even if it's just old. The mechanic repeatedly told me I was dreaming, that they would never do that and tried to put a new battery in my car without even telling me the price. nothing to do with the garage that turned up to change my wheel as i had a puncture. ...it's that i called this so called amazing speedy AA from Barnsley centre at 7.25. last night Monday..straight away AAtext said help on way .be there 20.30...then after a while switching to 21.40..garage turned up at 10.00...the guy swiftly changed wheels...as for AA..why on earth use garages miles away..green flag use local which would have been a Barnsley garage or even outskirts..but definitely not from Sheffield or Rotherham or leeds e... read more
This service needs to review itself. Our membership lapsed. I checked and the last time I used them I bought a battery from them. When I called yesterday the operator said I would have to pay a re-joining fee of $209.00 plus whatever a new battery might cost. I could have re-joined for $80 if I didn't require a call-out. So guess what, we found a guy with jumper leads and did a battery check and of course it needed a new battery. So AA didn't get the battery sale and we called them again today after we updated out membership... read more
