Superb service! I had a cooling system leak during a trip from Charleston to Norfolk. Andrew and the entire team showed first class customer service, knowledge, and skill. Andrew even gave me advice about recommended engine maintenance once I arrive at my destination. It was truly a pleasant experience in an otherwise stressful situation.
Andrew is a pro and knows Yanmar engines. I have purchased two reman engines from A1 and have been very happy with their work.
Andrew and his team run a tight ship. He has always made himself available for any maintenance or repair needs. I have a very unique boat powered by a yanmar diesel engine and his level of expertise is second to none. I have since moved out of state and he is still my go to for advice and parts. He and his wife are always quick to respond to emails or even texts. I could not recommend him enough. If you ever need anything done on your boat, Andrew and his crew are the team to call. You will NOT be disappointed
If there was a zero, I would rate Andrew 0. I requested an impeller be replaced. I was told I had other problems. I questioned all that but agreed to only do the absolutely necessary jobs - because I knew Andrew charged $155/hr, which is about double what other mobile mechanics charge. My bill was $5,489. I questioned the number of hours (11.5) he said it took to do the jobs. But my main complaint was Andrew charged me for 2 technicians, at $310/hr for every job done for 11.5 hours. After a rough start on ourmaiden voyage we lost our starboard engine. We limped our catamaran into Money Island Bay. For the next week my wife and I started to troubleshootour engine problem to no avail. To our surprise Yanmar enginetechs and service departments are not that ubanatant in the Morehead area.
