I was quoted $99 for an inspection of the fireplace, damper, flue, and chimney. The technician spent literally 3 minutes looking only at the fireplace and damper. He never checked the flue or chimney, saying that would cost $199 more. He tried to sell me chimney cleaning at $299 or $399. When I said I felt like I was paying $99 for him to try to upsell me other services, he said, "Well, I made the visit. Do you want to schedule the chimney inspection or cleaning or not?"
