This store has wonderful vintage and antique items, and caring people work there. You can find everything from office furniture to a one-of-a-kind 1940s lamp. While I was there, the owner Rose demonstrated an antique phonograph that used wax cylinders. My group had 3 people with different interests, and she shared insights about every item we asked about. Rose’s enthusiasm and kindness were a highlight of my visit to Chicago. I recommend this store to anyone. It’s well worth the visit.
This is the absolute best “hidden treasure” antique / vintage / you-will-find-something-spectacular place……And the stock rotates so much there’s always something. I can’t say enough good things about Rose and the whole team at Budget. She is so kind and helps you find the perfect thing. You will miss out if you do not stop in and this shop is worth a trip on its own!
Rose went above and beyond during our visit! She toured us through some of her favorite items in the store and provided in-depth histories for each. She's clearly incredibly passionate about antiques and is a gifted conversationalist. That alone would have been enough to merit a good review, but when my friend was on the verge of passing out from the heat she brought them some water and a cold rag. I went in to browse after seeing it on my daily walk and found an awesome piece for a project we’re working on! The warehouse is clean and organized, and the team up front are happy to talk to you about prices. Very cool spot!
