@CT Lee - OMG! you committed the cardinal sin. Cash in a white envelope (in Chinese culture) means death as in giving condolences when someone died. you probably didn’t mean to be insulting, but now you understand why he’d be pissed. You might owe him an apology

Usually go to this place for haircuts. Owner, San Ge requests cash only. Today both family members went there for haircuts. With an all the cash in hand, decided to put all the $$ in one envelope to hand to the owner. I go here for Japanese straight perms. He does a very excellent job, very detailed. The price is always reasonable. I love going to a place where someone seems to care so much about doing a good job. He also does a great job with cutting my hair. Highly recommend!
