I didn’t love my experience here. It was my first time getting my hair professionally colored and I was new to everything and excited to meet a “master artist” and feel comfortable and happy. Lavonna was very sweet, but after the appointment she wasn’t so sweet, along with me hating my haircut, and spending double what the top artists in Lawrence charge for the same coloring session. I have been going to A new thing, holistic health and beauty over the last two months to use the infrared sauna. It is very easy to get an appointment and I love being able to slip away and have 30 minutes of relaxation while helping my body. The extra care of cold refrigerated face cloths that have lavender are such a special touch along with a chilled bottle of water. I leave feeling refreshed and energized!

Another excellent color refresh and style with Lavonna. She is great at doing "A New Thing", or at helping maintain a loved look. The salon is in a unique, peaceful setting, overlooking the rural garden complete with horses, chickens and house pets. Lavonna takes time to listen and analyze each client to find the best services to achieve the desired result. Her years of experience combined with her dedication to continuing education help her create something special each time. Highly recommend.

I had my first appointment with LaVonna late in June and let me tell you, it was wonderful. She spent time with me asking questions about what i was looking for in a cut and color. She repeated back to me to let me know I was heard. My hair was cut to what i was looking for, even though my hair can be difficult. I didn't feel rushed. It was a breath of fresh air. I already have my next appointment set up for my color. Thank you LaVonna!!
