I live over at a complex they work on (River Terrace) and they’ve kept up on the leaves great this year. Even gently blew off my car since there were leafs on and around it.
I’ve watched them do the work in the complex I live in for years. I wouldn’t personally hire them to sweep my porch. One small example: For sometime they parked their truck and trailer in a spot that made it unsafe for people navigate both on foot and car. After telling them and being disregarded immediately I brought it to the attention of the complex. Tl;dr: A&K can't explain why their quote is 3x more than other landscapers. Don't let yourself get scammed. See attached photo of quote with my price/labor breakdown (in red). UPDATE 2: The response below from A&K doesn't hold water. 1) A doubling, or even tripling of the labor cost compared to a smaller landscaper still wouldn't come close to what they quoted. 2) If the quality and equipment is as good as they say, I imagine they would have had the idea to hire out moving soil to Lane Forest Products or Rexius. Asked for a quote for some trench digging, basic yard maintenance, and making some raised beds. I'm thinking 15, 25 hours of work, max. I even used ChatGPT to help confirm labor + material should come out to $1,600–$2,400, assuming $50/hr labor. A&K came back with a $7,000 quote.
