A Gift of Time works hard to support all inviduals with dementia while also giving their caregivers an afternoon off. The volunteers are joyous and work hard to implement fun activties for everyone to engage in. My ability to interact with participants as volunteers in college even gives me a nice change of pace and greater purpose while balancing my busy schedule.
Becky and Jeanette have such a wonderful program. They and the volunteers at A Gift of Time have been so sweet to my mom and to me! They are so well organized, purposeful and kind to all the friends that attend their group.
My mom has been attending for the last few weeks and I have not seen her smile so much since she started with this terrible disease. She looks forward to going to the "center" when I remind her on Wednesday evening. Of course, I remind her again the morning of:-) I have watched her enjoy the activities with the other folks when I get there a little early just to check things out. The staff/volunteers are so great with her and the other folks. I am so thankful for this program!!!!! Thanks, Patricia
A Gift of Time is the epitome of community. For those experiencing dementia or their care partners, it's a place to love and be loved. While being a part of this group, we are all strengthened, educated, and supported through each of our unique seasons of life. I've met some of the most incredible people while being a part of this respite program.
