Do you ever think about what would happen if your roof started to deteriorate, allowing water and debris into your offices? Since that could put your employees and equipment at risk, it’s a good idea to have regular inspections of your roof.

Slate is an extremely low-maintenance roofing material. A slate roof should be professionally inspected once a year to ensure its excellent condition. Homeowners are advised to inspect their slate roofs occasionally for cracked or missing tiles.

Roofing materials have to be strong, but still light enough that they don't cause weight problems. The average width of a slate tile is around 1/4 inch, but it's still strong and durable. It's also light enough that stronger roofs can be made using widths over 1 inch thick.

Metal roofing systems are most often manufactured in a factory and then shipped to your site prior to installation. However, some metal roofs can be manufactured on-site, saving you the hassle of waiting as well as shaving money off of your total cost.

Your roof is really the most important line of defense between your home and the outdoor elements. Since water can be a particularly insidious foe, it’s critical that you call in a roofing contractor whenever you have reason to believe your roof is compromise.

Many Solatube products have earned Energy Star ratings. These ratings help you understand how much energy your Solatube might save, and in many cases they can be used to qualify for energy tax credits and refunds.

A metal roof is considerably lighter than other roofing materials, by more than half in many situations. This means less strain on the decking and the building, in addition to the other protective qualities a metal roof offers.

Slate is a popular roofing material worldwide, partially because its so widely available. Slate is found all over Europe, in Brazil, and even in the Arctic. In the US, most of the slate comes from Eastern Pennsylvania, Vermont, New York, Maine, or Virginia.
